Old and New Harold Book

Harold and the purple crayon By Crockett Johnson

I'm sure some of you are familiar with this classic childrens book "Harold and the Purple Crayon". The old picture up there was my husband's book, it was his favorite book when he was little while the new revised one is Jake book had given to him as a gift from one of his Aunt. When Jake was around three to six months old, he used to just listen every time we read him this book, but now he would just grabbed it and start tearing or throwing it. I admired my MIL how she takes good care of this old book to had lasted this long. This is really a good book to read, kids would absolutely love to read Harold's Adventure taking his purple crayon.
HAROLD AND THE PURPLE CRAYON concerns a
little boy who literally "colors his world" by using a
crayon to draw whatever he happens to need. The
story begins with the little boy, Harold, wanting to take
a walk in the moonlight. Because there isn’t a moon,
Harold decides to draw one, as well as a path to follow
on his walk. When Harold realizes that the straight
path is getting him nowhere, he decides to draw a short
cut. As the story moves along, Harold and his crayon
move along too. Harold draws what he desires, finds
himself in difficulty, and draws his way out of his
dilemmas.
This is a wonderful exploration of the powers of the
imagination. It also serves as an example for children
about how problems can be solved through perseverance
and creative thinking.
The Story:
One evening, after thinking it over for some time, Harold decided to go for a walk in the moonlight. There wasn't any moon, and Harold needed a moon for a walk in the moonlight. And he needed something to walk on. He made a long straight path so he wouldn't get lost. And he set off on his walk, taking his big purple crayon with him. But he didn't seem to be getting anywhere on the long straight path.......

Fortunately, he had brought his purple crayon. So he drew a moon. He also needed something to walk on. So he drew a path. He drew an apple tree. a pie, a porcupine, buildings....
And thus begins one of the most imaginative and enchanting adventures in all of children's books. The creative concept behind this beloved story has intrigued children and kept them absorbed for generations, as page by page unfolds the dramatic and clever adventures of Harold and his purple crayon. You can get more story or books of Harold's Journey like harold's ABC, Harold's Circus, Harold's Trip to the Sky and more at any bookstore and library..
These are some of Jake books that he likes to eat, gnaw, bite, tear, browse and play with. He got them from his Grandma, Aunts and Cousins, it's a mixed of new and old books but most of the books he inherits from them are old ones, and some of them are very old as old as Hubby's older sister. I think Jake's need to learn how to read as soon as possible because he has 2 boxes full of books he got from his cousins.
