Be a Good Dad

The job of being a dad is rewarding and exciting. At times though, it can be a challenging. What is your relationship with your Dad? Is he the best dad in a whole world?

What Makes a Good Dad?

LOVE: This is the most important factor; the type of love that says I'm there for you through think and thin, through the messy toddler years, moody teen years, and joys and pains of adulthood. It's the type of love that leads you to put your life on the line to protect your child.

TIME: Nothing says I love you more to a child than when you spend time together. Spend as much time as you can with your child. Do simple things like eating meals and taking walks together. Simple things like these will help your child to be happy and succeed in life.

COMMITMENT: Being a dad is the biggest commitment you will ever make. Keep your word to your child. Remember, fatherhood is forever.

RESPONSIBILITY: You are responsible for your child's physical, emotional, and spiritual health. A great dad thinks about his children when making important life decisions.

Do you have what it takes to be called the best dad by your kids? It is an overwhelming, rewarding, fulfilling feeling when you see your kids grows up to be the way you wanted, successful, happy and proud.

I dont know much about my father, I didn't live with him pero bawi ako dito sa hubby ko kasi, he's always have time for the boys, even taking soem time off work just to be with them, spoils them a lot with love and material things, hugs them a lot and he work hard for them... can't say bad thing about him being a dad for my boys.

I don't know how my children will rate me. Since my wife is working in the US for the past three years, I have been the father and mother to my four kids- 3 boys and 1 girl. Since there was no stabilizing force to temper my tendency to discipline my kids, I had to compromise and show them both discipline and leniency that they used to get from their mother. I entrusted my kids to the Lord since my boys are already teenagers and my eldest is already 23 years old. I may not be the best dad for them but I always pray for them and entrust them to the care of the Lord. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.
