Know More about Wheat Foods Council and How Wheat Works

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Wheat Food Council. All opinions are 100% mine.

Do you know that Wheat is the most consumed grain in America? Yes, that is true. Americans love to eat burgers or sandwiches, bread, pasta and cereal which practically came from Wheat. Wheat grain is used to make flour, breads, cereal, pasta, and more. It can also be use for fermentation to make beer. Wheat is a globally important source of dietary carbohydrate and protein. Aside from being good for you, it can make certain foods quite tasty. Personally, I really like wheat bread a lot more than other types of bread. It gives that football Sunday submarine sandwich that extra zing. And, my husband and son both like to eat those honey wheat pretzels so is my daughter love the whole wheat cereal. If you want to know more about wheat food, then you should visit the Wheat Foods Council and you will find interesting information about wheat, fiber, grains, whole grains, whole wheat, carbohydrates and more. The Wheat Foods Council is a trusted national nonprofit organization formed to help increase awareness of dietary grains as an essential component to a healthy diet.

Wheat Foods Council believe that teaching people how a whole or enriched grain food comes to be can shed new light on wheat nutrition, resulting in informed food choices. So, the great news is they extended their program How Wheat Works to the youth. It is a farm-to fork experience and you can also track the path of America’s most-consumed grain, from the wheat field to the table, and give back to America’s troops. How Wheat Works is an interactive, online multimedia program that delivers a farm-to-fork education on wheat, enabling a better understanding of its nutritional value. Participants of all ages can virtually grow, harvest and mill their own kernels to create their desired wheat food. This interactive program has four phases – growth, harvest, milling/baking and the grocer’s aisle and each of the four phases only takes few minutes to complete. This program allow participants to extend their learning experience through preparing wheat-based recipes, exploring wheat grown in their area through their state wheat commission member sites and viewing harvest videos from America’s Heartland.

Another great thing about their virtual program is if you are a participant you will get the chance learn more about Wheat and at the same time be able to extend help through donations. The Council will donate two pounds of flour, up to 90,000 pounds, to Operation Homefront, a non-profit that provides assistance to needy U.S. troops and their families that is coming from each participant. This donation is made possible by the members at ADM and ConAgra Mills, two of the world’s largest millers. So, what are you waiting for, register now! Learn, help, and enjoy the How Wheat Works.
