Reading Is Fun & Cute too

Read my lips____??? Can you tell what she's reading? She was two years old in this picture when she pretended to read something. The lips look convincing huh as if she was really into it. She's now 4 years old and she can read simple words like three or four letter words--consonant-vowel-consonant or CVC and words ending with -S. All thanks to Dhemz for sharing Akesha's Hooked on Phonics® book. You have to let your children familiarize the letter names, sounds in the alphabet both uppercase and lower case. After that it will be easy to teach the kids how to read the word by letting them make the sound of each letter and have them connect the sound and read the word.

Both these videos where uploaded on March 2, 2011. Jake at that time was almost 3 years old. It was cute watching him and listening to his reading.

Jake was reading this book interactive Reading Journey for Grdes K-1 of Reader Rabbit that we got from his aunt Paula's kids. He is now reading the Books 17-24 and basic sight words. He is still needs more practice for mastery and to build his confidence.
Justine just finished reading the Hooked on Phonics® books and can masterly read all of them on her own. This girl is smart and verbally good but the problem is she is lazy. They both 4 years old when they learned how to read. Not a 100% reader yet but atleast can read. All they need is lots of practice to improve their reading skills.
