Surround Yourself With Things You Love

Your home should be a reflection of your personality and design style. The ever-changing decorating trends can provide ideas for you to adapt to your home and lifestyle. Living in an uncluttered space is a trend that isn't likely to go away. Uncluttered spaces are more attractive and tranquil than chaotic areas. Organization leads to less stress and a stress-free home environment promotes an overall sense of relaxation and happiness.

Collections
Typically, the things a person chooses to collect directly connect to their personality, passions or interests. Sometimes, the collectibles on display revive happy memories or the subject matter of the collection generates a smile each time you look at it. Surrounding yourself with items that you treasure is a wonderful way to personalize your decor and add emotional comfort to your home.

Displaying your collection
The manner in which you display a collection depends largely on what it is you collect and how much space you have in your home. In some instances, such as with the willow tree collection, you can purchase a Willow Tree Reliquary to display your figurines in. If your collection of figurines is extensive, there are other ways to attractively display them in your home. Wall shelves are a simple solution. You can use shelves of various sizes. Shelves are a great way to take advantage of vertical space and unused wall space such as corners.

A bookcase can be used to display a collection of books or as display space for a collection of small items. Some room dividers feature open shelves that are a perfect place to showcase figurines, photos, pottery, glassware, toys or numerous other collections. Shadow boxes can be grouped together on a wall in interesting configurations to create an impressive display space. This area can be a focal point of a room.

Accessories
Incorporating things you love into your home decor doesn't always mean displaying some type of collection. It could involve adding a quirky chair, unusual lamp or lamp shade or a unique rug to your decor. If you love plants, make them a part of the decor in each room. Vintage quilts or decorative blankets can be displayed in an open wardrobe or hung on a display ladder. Some collectible items such as baskets and jars can become eye-catching functional accessories.
