If you have children, you should consider remodeling their rooms before others as they can sometimes be picky when it comes to the designs that are desired. You don't want to keep the contractors waiting any longer than they need to so that they can continue work in the rest of the home. Make a list of the colors that the teen wants in her room along with the designs that she wants as this will make it easier to find free contractor leads who can complete the work.

If the room stays plain in terms of the colors on the wall, think about adding large paint circles on the ceiling. Add a chandelier or a light fixture that is the same color of the circles, giving the teen something fun to look at while laying on the bed. Gold or a bright color, like pink or orange, would be a fun way to add a splash of creativity to the room. Teal on the walls is a trend that is popular. The color often blends well with other colors, such as yellow, pink or orange. White bedding brings out the color of the walls along with a teal rug on a white or hardwood floor. Add pictures of things that the teen likes in frames that are black or silver to highlight the image. One who enjoys bolder colors and an eclectic scene could use a darker color, such as purple or royal blue. White accents would work best in this type of room as it will make the walls stand out.

If your teen enjoys pictures, then make a memory wall. This is done by adding netting onto one wall. You can also add plastic fencing as a support for the netting. Keep the material light so that it won't sag with the pictures, magazine clippings and other items that are placed on the wall. The best thing about this idea is that the items can easily be switched out when the teen wants something new.
