Weekend and Tooth Ache

How was your weekend everyone? Ours went well, not so busy going out and about. After last week meeting with the Man (that's what Jake call him). We went to see another Men on Saturday. We looked for house the whole afternoon despite of the chilly windy day. We found couple of houses we like but have not decided yet which is which. Then, Sunday we drove to SR and spent the whole day with MIL and running after the dragonz with my achy tooth.

Virus, virus, go away!

Because of our erratic weather, a lot of my friends have been sick longer than usual. I’m happy that I haven’t been sick for a long period of time, just the casual flu which would last 2-3 days or a little sore throat. My friends on the other hand sometimes think they have the extreme case of influenza that after being sick they still think they suffer from post viral fatigue.

Keeping healthy these days is not easy because our weather hasn’t been the same as before. Even though it’s supposed to be spring now, there are still some areas, according to my friends, where they still get inches and inches of snow or continuous warnings of an ice storm.

As a mother, I can only do so much to try to keep my children healthy and immune their boost system. I try to make sure they get their daily amount of nutrients and vitamins but I try to make sure they stock up on Vitamin C. I give them fresh lemonade every day, and even though they can’t really seem to finish a glass, I’m content in knowing that at least they’re getting more than when they did yesterday.

Mommy Moments - Crystal White

White is the theme for this week Mommy Moments. Here are my share. The happy helper buckaroo. This was taken last spring. And of course the mighty lamb chop polishing the yogurt.

Sayonara to the snow! It was snowing couple of days ago but not that bad it was just some flurries. This photo below was taken last week of January. We made a teeny weeny snowman.

Last Tuesday, it was raining and pouring hails.

I've neglected this blog and haven't reciprocating some comments. Sorry guys, I won't promise but I'll try to visit back your site and comments. I'm not feeling good today, aside from cold, i also have tooth ache. Thanks for dropping by and leaving some tracks.

ABC Wednesday - Letter J

J is for Juice and Joke

The previous post was my 3Js - Joe | Jake | Justine

This is an orange juice with a mix of wine.

Here is a joke for ya'll. I got this from the spam mail.
On a special teacher's day, a kindergarten teacher was receiving gifts from her pupils. The florist's son handed her a gift. She shook it, held it over her head, and said, "I bet I know what it is - flowers!" "That's right!" said the boy, "but how did you know?" "Just a wild guess," she said. The next pupil was the candy store owner's daughter. The teacher held her gift overhead, shook it, and said, "I bet I can guess what it is - a box of candy!" "That's right! But how did you know?" asked the girl. "Just a lucky guess," said the teacher. The next gift was from the liquor store owner's son. The teacher held the bag over her head and noticed that it was leaking. She touched a drop of the leakage with her finger and tasted it. "Is it wine?" she asked. "No," the boy replied. The teacher repeated the process, touching another drop of the leakage to her tongue. "Is it champagne?" she asked. "No," the boy replied. The teacher then said, "I give up, what is it?" The boy replied, "A puppy!"

Hurry Up Spring

Spring is approaching and I hope the weather temperature won't go high so we do not need to leak our faucet anymore. A small drip of water from this faucet cost money but we have to do this every time the temperature go below 20 degrees otherwise we will get frozen water pipe. So, spring please hurry up, will you? Another problem with this house besides frozen pipe (which is during winter only) is the kitchen sink. I wish the owner or management of this house will replace the kitchen sink with undermount sinks so it looks durable. Although, our kitchen sink still look good but there were couple of times last summer that it got clogged up. Anyway, if some of you is planning to replace your kitchen sink or perhaps will be having kitchen remodeling then consider trying out undermount sink from MR Direct International that sells affordable undermount, granite, and glass vessel, and porcelain sinks. Check out their website today.

Ruby Tuesday - Cardinal

I took this Cardinal bird this morning. I was inside our kitchen when I took a quick snap on this handsome fella. I've seen Blue Jay, cardinal and few other birds resting in the bushes at our backyard.

Cardinals don’t migrate and they don’t molt into a dull plumage, so they’re still breathtaking in winter’s snowy backyards.source:www.allaboutbirds.org

The Cardinals or Cardinalidae are a family of passerine birds found in North and South America. These are robust, seed-eating birds with strong bills. The sexes usually have distinctive appearances; the family is named for the red plumage (colored cardinal like the color of a Catholic cardinal's vestments) of males of the type species, the Northern Cardinal. Pedia Visit

I used to be uncomfortable bringing my kids to their pediatrician. I said “used to” because for them going to the doctor means something painful is bound to happen, like a shot or ear cleaning for example. But through the years, and having 2 kids, I may have found a solution to keep them looking forward to their visits with the doctor.

During my time, nursing uniforms were just the plain old white ones. They were very dull and being surrounded by them made me feel scared too. But now my kids find the nurses intriguing because they come in different designs and color. Each scrub is unique and the colors make the kids feel more at ease. My daughter definitely likes nurses wearing pink and purple scrubs while my son goes straight to nurses in blue and green scrubs. As soon as they “find” their own nurse, they’d start calling out each character they’d find.

Hence, I'm glad that both my kids are done with shots for a while now. The last visit with the Pedia went well. My lil lamb chop did not cry when the doctor held her but she screamed when the nurse gave her a shot. She cried when she felt the needle in her skin and after that she was back to being playful again. She came home smiling and running not minding the four shots, and two band aids in both of her legs.

ABC Wednesday - G

G... is for Gordon

It was Sunday when we went to the mall and the buckaroo wanted to go home because of Gordon. We got him a Gordon train and we left it in the car when were in the mall. He kept asking his Dada to play with Ohdon (Gordon) and Joe said it's in the car, he can play with it when we get home. I didn't wanna come home yet but the buckaroo won't stop whining. He wants wetwet (Edward) too but we told him that he can have Edward if he start pooping in the potty.

A Gift To Our Future

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of CryoCell International. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m hearing a lot about stem cell research nowadays.  It is actually very interesting to know that some of the diseases we are so afraid of may have a cure soon.  What is even more interesting is that the cure may be in our own genes.  We won’t need a concoction of cells and from some other people’s and animals’ cells but from someone we love.

Visiting www.Cryo-Cell.com gave more ideas of how to be able to give more to my children and their children.  By cord blood banking, it’s now possible to store a newborn’s umbilical cord and save it for use later in curing or preventing diseases.  I believe this is a great breakthrough because some diseases are said to be genetic.  If the cure can be found in our own DNA, we can spare our future generation with a lot of dreaded disease.  If you’re pregnant and want to learn more about this, visit www.Cryo-Cell.net to request for information and receive their kit.
