Lucky Bamboo
When we went to Lowe's last Friday and I bought a lucky bamboo. I was fascinated with this plant. I wanted to buy one of this before at one of the chinese store here but it was expensive. I saw this at Lowes for 10 bucks and never thought twice of buying one. Lucky bamboo, believed by Chinese Fen Shui, will bring prosperity, fortune and happiness to whoever has them. I heard this from people back home and beside from that it is a nice decorative plant inside the house. Well I hope this will bring goodluck to me and my family.:-)
From Wikipedia Dracaena sanderiana, known as Ribbon Dracaena, Lucky Bamboo, Belgian Evergreen or sometimes Ribbon Plant, is a species of Dracaena, native to Cameroon in tropical west Africa. It is one of a group of small, shrubby species with slender stems and flexible strap-shaped leaves that grow as understory plants in rainforests. It is marketed in the developed world as a Chinese decorative plant "Lucky Bamboo" (although unrelated to Bamboo and not native to Asia), propagated from short cuttings, usually in water.
Asian people buy "Lucky Bamboo" when the Chinese New Year is approaching or to celebrate a business grand opening, the purchase of a new home or just for pure good luck ! "Lucky Bamboo" has the following spiritual meaning:
* Career - Climb up the ladder (advancement)
* Business - success in business venture (prosperity)
* Health - Harmony and peaceful life (longevity)
* Religious - Gracious, honorable and virtuous (Zen)
* Relationship - Energize your love life
* FengShui - Creation of positive energy in your environment (Chi)
How to Grow and Care;
Lucky Bamboo grows in water like cut flowers, but it will last for years. Place the bamboo in shallow water (about 1/2" - 2") in a vase. For best results change the water every other week. It is not necessary to feed the lucky bamboo.
Lucky Bamboo adapts to a new environment easily. Low light to bright indirect sunlight suits them well. It prefers temperatures ranging from 45 - 90 F.

WW - Chilling Out
.bmp)
The buckaroo using Justine's swing which was used to be his. We encourage him not to use the swing anymore otherwise it will break but as you can see he was having a great time at the swing. Every time we pulled Justine out from the swing Jake is soo ready to switch her place. Now the swing has made a squeaky sound because of him being there all the time. The time out thing didn't work on him, and yet he still keep using the swing carrying his stuff toy that Jane gave to him.

ELOW!! Jake on the Phone
Who wants to talk to Jake on the phone? Just dial 123dadada hehehe. How are your weekend guys? We had yucky weekend for its raining most of the time from morning till night. Plus it's getting cooler and chilly in our dungeon; I guess my hibernation had already been started even if winter hasn't here yet. Good thing the rain stopped for a little while yesterday so we took a short drive to IKEA to get a new dresser for Jake. Anyhow, I have video of Jake here to keep you entertain today. We had telephone toy for him to used, but I don't know what is it with that foam blocks that he likes using it as his telephone. Thanks for viewing! Have a fun manic Monday.

Beach bicycles
Summer is my favorite seasons of the year because you can do lots of things outside like going for some picnic at the park; go to the beach, riding bicycle and more. Every summer my husband's sisters with their kids always come up in Slippery Rock to visit Mary and bring their own bicycles because for sure the whole family would definitely go for some rides at Franklin. If your family also loves taking bicycle ride on any given day, you should buy some beach cruiser that you can use even if you are at the beach. Click on the link to see different color and styles of beach bikes.

Mommy Moments - That's My Favorite

This is the theme of this week mommy moments. So with our further ado here are my Rugrats favorite toys, and things to do. Anyway drop by at Mommy Journey to see more of mommy moments favorites.
My little pre-madona who loves to fuss sometimes, smile if her mood is great, and cry out loud if she is hungry and tired. Baby at this age is KKK (kaon, katulog, kalibang) eat, sleep, poop are their favorite things to do. She also started to play with toys now. This is the mobile gym we got for Jake. Good thing Justine like it because the buckaroo Ehmmm not so much.
Jake loves stuff animals; he has quite a few of stuff toys in his bed that gives him comfort. His favorites among them are Winnie the pooh and of course Raggedy Andy which he always take with him every where we go. He also loves music. Every time we play his favorite song on cd he would just run right away to his crib and grab pooh as his dancing partner.

Jake's likes to tear and pretend reading his book. His favorite books are the "Pat the Bunny", "Open the Barn Door" and "Wow City" perhaps because of the colorful illustrations and interactive pages with it. These books right now are all ruined and torn that is why I had to hid it also so that he won't tear all the pages on it. I'll give it back to him when he is two years old, hopefully by that age he won't tear its pages and knows the value of how to take good care of his books.
Jake's favorite old sesame street hanging mobile that he inherited from his cousins. We bought him a new hanging mobile gym but he didn't showed much appreciation and interest on it compared to this one. Even if he was almost a year old up to now he was still playing with it. Now I hid it at Justine's room before he will break it. Every time we opened Justine's room and he spotted this toy inside we couldn't stop him from going there and play with it otherwise its gonna be loud scream and cry.

Hi Sissy Mmmwahhh!
Here is a video of Jake bonding with her baby sissy, giving her a kiss and slap waaa but he didn't actually hit her though, he was just too excited ahhh aint that sweet!!...check more at their Milestones blog. I had to stop the video coz Jake already sat in next to Justine's pillow.
He is a very gentle baby but sometimes he can't control his excitement to play with Justine. He didn't have any kids around here to play with and we seldom go to the playground now since we moved in to this new neighborhood. Hope you enjoyed watching Jake and Justine show.

19.2-pound Baby

As I check on my mail tonight, I read this news of a 8.7-kilogramme (19.2-pound) new born baby boy of an Indonesian woman named Ani. Doctor said, this baby is the heaviest newborn baby ever recorded in the country. The baby boy is pictured here next to a baby of average size at a hospital in Medan, North Sumatra.
Ani's epic delivery scored a lot of attention in the Search box. After the "Today" show ran a segment and Al Roker and Matt Lauer made some lighthearted jokes, lookups on "19 pound baby," "indonesian baby," and "heaviest baby ever" all spiked immediately. This baby is so popular right now on the news, yahoo and not surprisingly, the baby is said to require "near constant feeding."
Read more here
I was shocked when I read this new, my gosh my baby is three times the size of this baby when I gave birth. I can't imagine the pain of the mother when she was on labor. This baby is like the weight of a 1 year old baby. Congratulations to the mother and good luck and for the baby Welcome to the world!

Choosing between Be with the one you love and The one who loves you... I chose both. Giving up my career and move to a different country where you feel like stranger wasn't that easy as I thought it would, but no regrets. I have two adorable and wonderful good children to share life with, and responsible husband. They are my family, which I'm proud and happy to call it my own.
