It's Wednesday already guys, it means no school tomorrow for Babger and I could sleep longer in the morning and get up late. Meanwhile, it is time for ABC Wednesday!
K...is for Keyboard
Who wants to clean our dusty keyboard and I'll pay you 20 bucks hehehe. Just kidding! This money was already at the bank because I tore it when I was super pissed with my better half. I have a really bad temper and tendency to break something if I am super pissed. I know it is not good but honestly i am trying to control it.

Wordless Wednesday - Sleeping Position

Check out Sleeping #1 and Sleeping Beauty #2. She is a sleeper and she can sleep this way......Tada!!!
Take a closer look! Zoooooom it's the my lil jelly bean sleeping with her legs up.
Now, try look the different angle. Ain't that cute and of course funny.
She slept in that position for 30 minutes before she changed position. She almost woke up when I click the camera. She had her eyes half open and then closed it again and rolled over to the left. If she is tired no matter how awkward her position she really goes to sleep. I was gonna snap my camera again today during our lunch time when she started drifting to sleep but she woke up with our noises when were laughing at her for sleeping that quick. She is really good in sleeping and you know the rule for sleeping baby.."Never wake up a sleeping baby". So, we let her sleep wherever she drifted to sleep. We feel bad sometimes if Jake is around because she can't finish her nap because the Kuya J will wake her up.

Plugged Ducts and Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is the most wonderful experience that all Mother feels especially the New Mom. Of the many joys of breastfeeding, plugged ducts are not one of them. I am done nursing with Justine and I am so proud of my little girl because nursing her was never a problem. Unlike with Jake, breastfeeding with him was like putting a fight most of the time. I experienced lots of pain breastfeeding with Jake like sore nipple, engorged breast and plugged ducts. It is very common for breastfeeding mother to have an engorged breast and it would be so painful if baby refuse to nurse. Jake won't drink in a bottle when he was little, he refused and didn't like to nurse also if I had full milk that was why it resulted to plugged ducts. My doctor advised me to forced him to nurse the part that had plugged ducts but I can't really forced Jake even until now we can't force him to do things he doesn't like. Having a plugged ducts is very painful although you won't get fever with it but if you won't do anything it may result to infection. What I did was poke my nipple with needle to get a hole for milk to come out and follow all the tips I am going to share below. Poking it with needle was painful but I was glad it never get infected.
A plugged duct may be small or it may involve a large area of the breast that feels overly full and does not soften with nursing. The skin over the area may be reddened. Occasionally a plug in one of the nipple openings blocks the milk flow and causes a backup of milk in the breast. If the nipple looks normal in color but you can see a white pimple on the face of the nipple, particularly right after the baby comes off the breast, the problem may be a plugged nipple pore. Plugged nipple pores are often associated with stabbing breast pain especially right after nursing. Plugged ducts are most common during the early weeks of nursing, but they can occur at any time during breastfeeding. They occur for variety of reasons. A plugged duct may follow a misses feeding or a long stretch at night without nursing. Overly tight bras, especially under wire types, may obstruct milk flow and lead to plugged ducts. baby carriers with tight straps can also cause this to happen. For unknown reason, plugged ducts seem to be more common during the winter months.
If you experience this kind of condition here is what you can do. Any breast lump that does not get significantly smaller within a week should be examined by doctor.
Treatment Measures for Plugged Ducts
1. Remove your bra if there is any question that it may be too tight or may be pressing into part of your breast.
2. Apply moist heat to the breast for 15 to 20 minutes before nursing.
3. Nurse frequently, at least every two hours. Begin each nursing on the affected breast.
4. Gently massage the breast just behind the sore area while nursing.
5. If you are following the preceding recommendations but notice no change in your breast after a feeding or two, try positioning the baby with his chin close to the plugged duct, if possible, to promote better drainage. If this doesn't work, get into the shower. With your breast well soaped, apply steady but gentle pressure behind the plugged area, pressing toward the nipple.
6. Increase your fluid intake so that you urinate more frequently.
7. When the blockage seems to be in the nipple, look for dried milk secretions or a clogged nipple pore which may resemble a whitehead. If necessary, you can gently remove a visible plug from a nipple opening with a sterile needle. This may cause a little bleeding, but you probably won't feel any pain.
8. Be alert for signs of developing breast infection- fever, chills, and achiness so you can treat it promptly.
These are the tips and information I read and applied when I experienced plugged ducts. Below are more information I found online of how to handle plugged milk ducts.
PLUGGED MILK DUCTS
Sometimes a milk duct leading from the milk-making cells to the nipple gets plugged, resulting in a tender lump beneath the areola. There may also be a wedge-shaped area of redness extending from the lump back towards the wall of the chest. Unlike mastitis, the pain comes and goes with a plugged duct, and unless the duct is infected, you will not feel generally ill. If left untreated, however, a plugged duct may become infected, resulting in mastitis, infection, or a breast abscess.
To unplug the duct and prevent subsequent infection, try these suggestions:
* Continue to breastfeed on the affected side. By any means, get the milk out! This is the golden rule of preventing engorgement, plugged ducts, and mastitis. Use a breast pump or hand expression if baby is unwilling to nurse.
* Breastfeed on the affected side first. Baby's sucking is strongest at the beginning of the feed, so he is more likely to dislodge the plug when he starts on the affected breast.
* Vary the baby's position at the breast, so that all of the milk ducts are drained. Be sure the baby is latched-on well, so that he can nurse efficiently. Try the clutch hold or side-lying position. Before each feeding, massage the affected area by kneading your breast gently from the top of the breast down over the plugged duct toward the nipple.
* Drain the affected breast better by positioning baby so his chin "points" to the area that is sore. For example, if the lump is around 4 o'clock, use the clutch-hold and position baby's chin around this point on the nipple clock. The lower jaw is often most effective at getting milk out of the breast.
* Apply moist heat compresses for a few minutes before feeding or pumping, or soak the affected breast in warm water or in the shower as described under Engorgement
* Rest. Lie down with the baby and nap-nurse.
* If you notice a small, white dot at the end of the milk duct on your nipple, that is the end of a plugged nipple opening. Apply moist heat on this white blister and with a sterile needle gently pop the blister. If this pore stays plugged, it could block milk drainage and lead to a plugged duct and mastitis.
* Try a pressure massage on the area of your breast that is swollen and painful because of a plugged duct. This may help to loosen the plug. With pressure massage, you do not actually move your hand over the skin as you would with a normal massage. You simply press more and more firmly with the heel of your hand to move the plug in the duct down closer to the nipple. Visit the source and read more.
Make breastfeeding a wonderful experience and enjoy the beauty of motherhood.

Ahhhh!!! Ahhh!
I was gonna post this video couple of weeks ago but I keep forgetting. Well I guess the sign of old age and Alzheimer is getting obvious. Anyway, I already posted before how Justine squeal at three months old. Now here is an update of her witty cutie interaction with me. In this video she is scooting and working on crawling. She is now 7 months and 2 week old and can crawl already, not the good yet but you can see her crawling. I'll post the video of her crawling next time.

There are different varieties of scrumptious food that has been part of every family's table for years. Hormel chili is the nation’s leading chili brand that has topped nachos and filled the bowls of American families for generations. My husband can attest to that as it is one of his favorite snacks and comfort food. In the 30s, characters Jiggs and Maggie from Bringing Up Father were used in Dinty Moore® advertisements. Later, a lumber jack character was introduced, proclaiming “First name’s Dinty, last name’s Moore,” who placed his signature thumbprint on every can. In the 1950s, Hollywood star Ray Milland of “Copper Canyon,” and other celebrities appeared in print ads promoting Hormel® chili. In the 80s, pro football player Fran Tarkenton was tapped to promote Hormel® chili. This product company had stand out for many year as healthy food up until now. Rainy Weekend
Perhaps some families right now are having great time at the beach, enjoying the easter egg hunt and having fun outside. Well, not me and these two little rugrats I think. Jake been bugging us to go ouside since yesterday but my Boss was too busy watching his basketball and tires to drive us to the park. Aside from the yesterday it wasn't raining in the afternoon but it was cloudy and chilly. The jelly bean on the other hand just have the time of her life exploring and getting into trouble.
Then, the boss promised to take us to the mall today (sunday) but due to the non stop raining and drizzle he blew his promise again. We are stuck inside again this weekend. Sigh.... What a life parang buhay, full of buhay buhay. How's your weekend everyone?

Absentminded and Mommy Brain
Absent-mindedness can refer to three very different things:
1. a low level of attention ("blanking" or “zoning out”);
2. intense attention to a single object of focus (hyperfocus) that makes them oblivious to events around them; or
3. unwarranted distraction of attention from the object of focus by irrelevant thoughts or environmental events.
–adjective
so lost in thought that one does not realize what one is doing, what is happening, etc.; preoccupied to the extent of being unaware of one's immediate surroundings.
I am not going through early senility I am just absentminded. This occasional slips of memory is very common to lots of mothers-to-be as part of hormonal changes during pregnancy. They call it "mommy brain" or "pregnancy amnesia." Not paying attention or having too many things on your mind is one causes of absent-minded-ness. It started when I got pregnant I become forgetful and absentminded. I used to be good in remembering names but now I can't even remember the name of Filipina I met at the mall. Good thing I store her name in my cellphone.
It happens many times now that I feed Justine the oatmeal which was supposed to be for Jake. I feed them both at the same time. In the morning I give them breakfast in separate bowl. Jake is oatmeal with fruits and has thicker texture while Justine is a baby wheat cereal. When I put the spoonful of oatmeal at Justine's mouth, she just swallowed it like big kid. I hurriedly scoop it out with my finger. The funny thing was Justine just open her mouth widely to take all big spoonfuls of oatmeal and that happened again and again in different days. And that one time also I boiled water to heat up Justine's food. I did not check the pot and turned the stove on to high heat. I waited for 30 minutes and the water wasn't boiling yet. Then I waited for another 10 minutes and when I lift the lead off the holder melted. It was extremely hot that it leaves burnt mark on the kitchen counter. Oh boy! Whatta life.

Mommy Moments - Summer Days Are Here!

It's still spring here but in other side of the world it's already Summer. I'm sure the beaches and pools there right now are always full especially this coming Easter Sunday. Anyhow, this week theme in Mommy Moments is the fun or activity you can do during Summer Days. I had tons of fun experiences and getaways every summer when I was single and when I came here my life was totally opposite and different. I want my kids to have wonderful childhood memories that they can cherish when they grow up. My MIL had been suggesting us to take Jake for a swimming lesson but we don't have the money. And even if there is free swimming lesson my husband is too lazy to take us there. I really hope that my husband will take extra time and effort to drive us or take us to a lot of fun places.
That summer vacation we had in Vegas was one of the great summers we had. My husband is a boring person and prefer to sits his butt off in front of the TV rather than taking us out to nice places around here. Those times that he took me for a bike ride, and canoeing it was because Mary (my MIL) told him to take me out. For two summers since I came here the park and the short walk around the sh*#%y place and malls are the only places my husband been taking us. I really want to have fun and enjoy being outside during spring and summer because these are the only time that the weather is great. There is a beach, pool and lakes close by but he never take us there so the kitchen sink and bath tub is the J&J's beach or pool. Then last summer I was pregnant and was busy moving. This summer I am not sure if we will have a fun one. He nods every time we talk about going here and there on summer but I have the feeling that he'll blow this up again. He already have schedule for a summer class so, for sure my lazy boss will make lots of alibis. If only Philippines is a jeepney ride away from here things would be easier right?lol
Enjoy your summer Pinay mommies and kiddos.

Activity to Stay Active
What activities do you give to your children to stay active? Have a toddler and a baby and both of them are very active. My little guy right now is at the age to demand to go outside since he can speak few words like outside. If he can't get what he wants expect a major fit or tantrums. While my little princess always on the go in every single corner inside our house. She doesn't care that much if she is outside or inside. I'm glad that they are both active, it only mean one thing that they are healthy babies.
Children who are active are more likely to become healthy and active adults. We need to set a good example for our children to follow. It is very important for each family to find things that they can do together, like going for a walk, swimming, or playing soccer. It might be hard for others to limit the time in watching TV as it is one way of spending our pastime. But if possible limit the time your children spend watching TV and encourage them to play outside especially if the weather is good.
Children need to be active to grow up healthy. Start by giving your baby several 10 to 15 minute period of active play each day. here are activities that you can give to your baby, toddler or preschooler.
Babies
*Put her on his back, hold a soft toy near his feet and let her kick it.
*Sit on the floor with your baby in front of your. Hold a toy near your side and encourage him to reach and grab it.
Toddlers
*
*Play "follow the leader." Run and jump and let her follow. Then let her be the leader.
*Make a safe place for her to run in a circle-around the couch or around several rooms.
Preschoolers
*
*Dance together to music or songs.
*Bend together at the waist and try to touch your toes. reach your arms overhead and pretend to climb up a rope.
Some of the activities works well with Justine but not so much with Jake. Every kids is different in their own unique way. What works with your kids might now work with other kids. Just find any activity that works for your kids to them to stay active and healthy.
Babies love remote control I don't know what is it with the remote control why they are so fascinated with it. When Justine saw the remote control on the floor she just crawled like a little cub aiming for the remote control. So, I used the remote control as bait for her to crawl and here is Justine Crawling. Right now she is crawling every where to the kitchen, to the dining room, under the table, under the TV, to the hall way and even going out from our room going to the bathroom. She is always on the go.

Escape to Branson for a Relaxing Spring Vacation
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson. All opinions are 100% mine.
Spring has just begun, but the unpredictable weather and rain is teasing us still. Well, there is one place you can go to escape this spring and that will be in Branson, Missouri. You will enjoy your relaxation while taking in the scenery, the thrill of a great game, or endless shopping, dining and theaters. And of course the only best place to stay in Branson would be the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing and the Hilton Branson Convention Center. It is situated within the electrifying entertainment capital of the Midwest and offer guests’ access to shops, boutiques, restaurants, a river walk and other attractions. Both hotels are within easy driving distance of Branson’s championship golf courses, lakes, museums, theme parks and 49 live entertainment theaters.
Right now, Branson has ongoing events like the 14th annual Branson Tri-Lakes Building and Home Show, NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament, Branson’s Best Boat and Recreation Show, Silver Dollar City’s Family Spring Break Day and the memorable Young Christian’s Weekend. You also do not want to miss out series of amazing concerts on the Branson Landing including shows from 65 South, Colgate Country Showdown with KHOZ 102.9, EXILE, The Nashvegas All Stars, and David Letterman Stupid Human & Pet Trick Auditions. All these fantastic events will happen in Branson and you will have the chance to experience an exciting vacation if you book now in Branson. I think that a day of shopping in the downtown area is what I would want to do. Then I would go to eat in one of the local diners, and maybe I would see some live theater in the evening. My husband would spend the day golfing, and then I am sure he will want to see the waterfront after that. After the extreme snowstorm and freezing winter it's about time to reward your family for a relaxing vacation. Escape to Branson this spring to experience a true Ozark Mountain Spring. Have Fun!

Little English Collection
The spring is such a tease this week. Last weekend it was perfect and sunny but this past couple of days it's been raining in the morning. Right now we are 37 degree with a little bit of drizzle and chilly weather. I thought three layered clothes is out and short is in. Anyhow, we still have to start shopping for spring and summer clothing for our little tots like short perhaps. It is so easy to shop for girl stuff clothing than for boys. There's plenty of selection for girls than boys. I found a great site online called Little English where you can buy Toddler Clothing and they have tons of classic and traditional children collection that is perfect for any season and different occasion. Shopaholic in Me
Finally my order from www.forevertrendy.com arrived this morning. I was disappointed not with the items but the services because it says in their site "same day shipping" which is not true. I ordered these(picturs below) on the 15Th of March and the items just arrived today. Whoa! March 15th and 22Nd are the same day I guess waaaaa. Well, atleast it arrive thanks but no thanks hehe.

My shopaholic side of me strike again and I can't resist and fight me evil. I had been shopping online this past couple of weeks. Now, I'm really trying to stay away from any shopping site even if I have been receiving email of 50% off, 25% off, free shipping and more. This kind of activity is so addictive, I need to rehabilitate myself for now from shopping. Few items I got last are these girly-ish stuff.
These intimate stuff got them from Charlotte Russe and then Working shirt for Babger at sears.com. Both my orders from different shopping site arrived in the same day last week.

Now, I'm waiting for my orders from www.wetseal.com to arrive anytime this week.

I'm glad I was outbidded and did not win in some of the items I Bid on eBay otherwise it drained my datungers lol. So, thankful for the paid sites for giving me opportunity and earn moolah from blogging and able to shop stuff as reward. I deserved a reward being stay at home inang yaya is not easy and very tiring. And besides I earned this Ah-Ah from blogging so I guess I have all the right to spend it. hehehe
If you ladies want to go shopping check out the sites I mention above because they have nice stuff and affordable prices too. Well except for the forever trendy that says same day shipping but it takes a week to get your order on the mail.

Choosing between Be with the one you love and The one who loves you... I chose both. Giving up my career and move to a different country where you feel like stranger wasn't that easy as I thought it would, but no regrets. I have two adorable and wonderful good children to share life with, and responsible husband. They are my family, which I'm proud and happy to call it my own.
