The First time we travel to vegas jake at that time was still 4 months old, meaning I was still nursing him. In my mind I kept praying that he won't ask for milk, eventhough I pumped some in the bottle he didn't like drinking it. Fever mania

Few days after we went to the doctor and gave jake his antibiotics for his darn ear infection we thought finally we can breath now everything is going to be alright because jake showed improvement. His cough was getting slow, the yellow.....ish runny nose and mucus in his eyes were gone and his walking, playing, laughing again, basically he was back to normal. Until the other night he was acting weird so quiet and didn't wanna play and feeling warm, I took his temperature from 98 went up to 103 F. We brought him right away to the Children's Hospital. When we got there it was crowded with babies and kids who has fever too, can't barely find a seat to settle down, some patients were setting at the hallway. We waited for 4 hours to be called, and they gave jake a motrin coz his fever still at 103 F. Then they sent us to this other room and waited again for 2 hours before the nurse called us and sent us again to this single room and waited for another more 2 hours for the doctor. When the doctor came in jake's fever was already coming down almost gone. It's the ear infection that cause his fever, so they discharged us. We came home early in the morning like 5:00 o clock. We are all exhausted from the long hours waiting. My baby is sick again, his fever they come and go, like this morning it was down and back again after few hours then last night was totally gone, he was playing again his fave game trashing the place and throwing the books away. We give his medicine round the clock, so hopefully he will feel better today, and this fever and ear infection I wish they would go far far away and never come back we don't need them here.

My monday is pretty boring and depressing, I don't feel like blogging and feeling dumb dumb waaaa. Yeah I think I'm having what they call writers block. So, I just did my daily rounds like dropping entrecards and reading other bloggers blog today until I came accross with this fabulous contest hosted by Rose the Birthday prettymom and think of joining it. Cool Hand-me-Downs and Gifts

When we visited my MIL last thursday jake got a whole bunch of hand-me-downs stuff again from his cousins and advance B-day gifts from his GM. My SIL and her kids from newyork were here for a week visits and they brought a lot of things for jake. Well they always do everytime they are here. That is one good thing being the youngest in the family you get to keep all the hand-me-downs. Isn't that great! Jake is their youngest counsins, so those old books, toys, clothes, crib and everything that his cousins got from their GM and family friends were all given to jake. Hand-me-downs that are passed from hubbys generation to younger generations are all in jake's possession now. I'm glad my little buckaroo appreciated those old toys and stuff than the new one. We bought him few new toys but he disregard them he rather play with the old stuff until now. Oh! how we love this hand-me-downs we don't have to worry buying him something like that in the photo, its a big savings in our pocket. If someone offers you hand-me-downs or gifts take it!take!

Sick and Ear Infection

Yesterday, was a busy day for us. We went to the doctor for jake's check up in the morning and headed up to slippery rock in the afternoon to visit his GM. After how many times asking for an appointment at my little buckaroo's pediatrician finally we got one yesterday. Jake still has little cough and pretty bad colds, and this past days we noticed some mucus discharged from his eyes. His cough wasn't that bad but it's still triggers him to throw out. He didn't have fever either, seems like he handled all this sickness and bad feelings pretty well. So, the doctor checked him up and saw his throat kind of red thats why his voice was a little harsh, and He has an ear infection that explain those yellowish mucus in his eyes. The doctor prescribed him an antibiotics for his ear infection. We feel better after knowing all that, and has this medicine that would help him getting well. The meds start kicking in after we gave him yesterday and this morning.

We all have a lot of expections especially the good ones. Something big I am expecting this year 2009 is giving birth to a wonderful baby which is due on august 2009. I'm excited for that moment, we are gonna have another member of the family. Hubby and I talked that this would be the last and im happy with that coz I am planning to get a job in the future.

Best Mom Award

"The essence of a woman is to become a mother" one famous line i bet you already heard. And being a mother is a noble job, you are also their first teacher, a playmate, a maid, a friend, a lawyer who defends them when they make mistake, a doctor when they get sick or whatever you can think a mommy does plus you don't get paid doing all that. Every single moments with my baby jake is precious, it's the greatest experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Everyday I thank God for giving us jake and another one on the way and ask his guidance in raising my baby that they will grow up to be a good christian.

Immunization

First week of march will be jake's next appointment to his pediatrician, im sure he's gonna get a shot again but after this it'll take a long time before he will get another shot. Everytime jake get vaccinated i can't bear looking at him crying, it was always hubby holding him while the nurse gave him the shots. I'm sure a lot of mother felt the same way to their babies, but I understand how important and safe the vaccines are for my baby. The long - term health of our children depends on immunization. I just wanna share what I read in some health magazine about vaccination.
To help parents understand just how critical it is for children to be vaccinated against diseases, Dr. Diamond, offers scientific facts about the efficacy and safety of vaccines to counter three widely held myths.

MYTH: Vaccines cause many serious side effects.
FACT: The risk of serious side effects is one in 10 million. " Weigh that against theserious diseases that are prevented," he says.

MYTH: More than one vaccine at a time will overload my child's immune system.
FACT: The vaccinations contain antigens, which are substances that stimulate antibodies.
Children are exposed to antigens daily. Clinical trials have repeatedly proven the benefit

There are some mothers who are against vaccination and I respect whatever reasons they have. As parents what we are after is the welfare and health of our kids.

Best Valentines Ever

How was your valentine's day guys? So far ours were great, it was the best valentines for me eversince i was alive. I never celebrated valentines when I was single, yeah i recieved cards or flowers before but its different when you celebrate it with your love ones. Our buckaroo was feeling a little better yesterday so off to the mall for a shopping. Hubby didn't buy me flowers or chocolate but instead he let me picked anything I want in the mall and some stuff for jake, that was a good gift for me. Then, he took us out for dinner to this fancy restaurant in the neighborhood. It was nice of him to treat us like that I love it, hope he will do that again next hearts day. I'm sure some of you had a very especial valetine's day too.

Jake & Dallas in Vegas

When we were in vegas we usually hang out inside. Having this two little nuggets can be stressful and tiring too. In this video rachael and I were both tired looking after them, so we let them play, give them books and toys. Dallas was reading his book "Where the wild things are" to jake while the latter one wanted to play. I enjoyed watching them so i video what this two were doing. Jake thought that dallas playing with him but actually he was reading him the book. It's funny though, jake laughed when dallas reading and dallas thought jake were listening. Ohhh babies are cute and funny aren't they?

Valentine's Day

Some people celebrating today's occassion some are not. But I'm sure lots of flowers, cards and chocolate has been sent to their love ones on this valentines day. I just wanna greet everybody out there young and old, inlove or not a Happy Valentines Day.

Newbie Blogger

I just had my blog makeover by momgen, and I am so into it. I'm thankful i met her, she is super nice wonderful lady. I learned a lot of things from her. Now Im so pre-occupied with my blog trying to install different stuff with the help of gen. I even forgot to drop entrecard yesterday and visited other blogs. Sorry guys, the newbie here kind of very busy figuring out things and learning more i'll just make it up today. In my sleep i am still thinking of what im gonna do next in my blog, thinking of the code need to install ohhh man! im getting insane here. I'm always infront of the computer, my back and eyes are aching already. I forgot to do the dishes and clean the house. Good thing my baby has been sleeping a lot today because he is still not feeling well from his cough and cold. I really have to pull my ass off from the computer now before he wakes up and take care of everythings around here. I'll be right back guys.

New Blog Design

I have been wanting to change the design of my blog, I wanted to have a little theme on it that would fit my title. A friend of mine gave me the sites Wonderful Things In Life owned by momgen. So I went there and saw her other blog The designer's Blog and see some of her designs posted in the said blog and it was all great. I also checked all her other blogs and i like all of them. I contacted her by leaving message to her shoutbox and she responded right away. So, yesterday this new found friend mommy gen and I talked over the phone about how I wanted to makeover my blog. She asked me what color i wanted to have, the designs and other details need to be placed in my blog. The next morning when I checked my blog it's all done, wow! that was really quick I was impressed. I love the new designs, the buttons and the modification of my blogroll plus the price is very nice, so affordable . Thanks a lot momgen till next time, but im still gonna contact you to learn more about blogging lol.

Eleven Eleven

Jake is 11 months old today, feb. 11th.
Lately he is trying to walk and made 3 to 4 steps even if he's not feeling well from his cough and colds. And today I get the chance to video and capture this moments of his milestone.

Baby has really a mind of their own, They do things at their own time and pace. Like our baby jake we've been trying to teach him walking when we was around 9 months but he refused to follow it. We were surprised right around 6 months he crawled and the next thing we saw him waving, and clapping and just about he turn 11 months he started walking. Next month he'll be 1 year old, another great milestone of his life. We look forward to that and the new tricks he can do.

Bad Cough and Colds

We have an uninvited visitors here, The bad cough and its friend mucus and colds. When we got home from vegas my hubby has been coughing a lot and not feeling well. Must be from the cold weather and overfatigue at work. Then, I started getting some of that cough and cold, I thought it was part of being pregnant and change of weather from warm vegas to freezing pittsburgh but i didn't mind all that. A couple of days ago our baby jake started coughing and has runny nose. He wasn't fussing at all or acting sick then. Last night his cough were getting harder it bother us a lot, hubby went to the pharmacy to look for baby cough medicine but came home nothing. We gave him tylenol and let him drink juice. At the middle of the night our poor baby woke us up with his hard cough, and of course his just a baby he doesn't know how to spit those saliva from coughing he just swallowed it up and go back to sleep. Until early this morning jake still coughing a lot with his eyes close, he must be very sleepy still, then he throw out some of the milk and saw tiny phlem on it. If only I could take that bad cough from him I would. I told hubby to call the doctor and ask for whatever medicine we can give to the baby, but before he decided to call he ask around some of his co workers who are mothers too, and they said doctors won't prescribe any cough medicine for baby at his age. I think jake has to undergo that stage, eventually that cough will go away. I hope we know how to get rid this kind of illness from our jake or atleast we can take that bad cough and colds away from him.

Champ - O - Rado Everyone!?

During our vegas vacation,one of the most fantastic experience i had in there was going to the filipino store. Yeah! it may sound silly but i was happy with that. The thing is we don't have filipino store here that i know of. So, when I saw all those familiar product in their store i just don't wanna stop looking around. I bought some to bring home like this champ-o-rado, hotdog, sardines and a lot more shown in the pics, oh! how i missed eating them. I ate the sardines and 1 pack of hotdogs as soon as we got home, do i sound like a monster hungry pinay?lol. If only i had this big suitcase and extra money i could have buy more than that. My sister and her hubby had a little gatherings/party when we were there. She cooked like 7 different dishes of filipino foods because their visitors or friends wives were mostly asians. I love eating all those filipino food they served. I'm not a good cook like my sister, im just a good eater. It was also a great experience meeting nice people in different place. Well, this prego hungry monster had a blast in that vacation.
